Gold Text

  1. Open a new image, any size to accommodate your text, I used a white background, image 250x250.
  2. Lay down your text, floating and anti-alias checked, color: white.
  3. Pick 192-192-0 (#C0C000) as your foreground color, and 255-255-192 (#FFFFC0) as your background color.
  4. Choose the fill tool (the little paint bucket on the tool bar on the left side of the screen). In the tool options palette on the first tab, choose sunburst gradient, blend mode normal, paper texture none, match mode none, opacity 100%. On the second tab of the tool options palette, choose foreground to background gradient, repeats: 0, Gradient center: horizontal 25, vertical 50. Apply fill. Leave text selected.
  5. Go to Image | Effects | Inner Bevel. Play with the options and sliders and different bevels there until you get the look you want. Click ok to apply.
  6. If you want, apply a drop shadow by going to Image | Effects | Drop Shadow.
  7. For silver text use the same steps but substitute the metallic preset that came with PSP 6.
