We already know that Paint Shop Pro comes with a preset filter called Emboss. If you want to engrave an image, you can add a preset for engraving in a few simple steps. First, change your image to greyscale by going to the Colors menu and choosing Greyscale. Second, increase the color depth to 16.7 million, then use the Lasso tool to trace around the main image. Now go to the Image menu and choose Effects, Sculpture. Use these settings:

• Size: 71
• Smoothness: 0
• Depth: 7
• Ambience: 0
• Shininess: 0
• Light Color: White
• Angle: 315
• Intensity: 50
• Elevation: 25

Apply these settings and save them in the Save As option; use the name Engrave and click OK. Finally, choose Inverse from the Selections menu, then reapply the new preset Engrave to the inverted portion of the image.
