Cutout Frame

  1. Open the image you wish to use then make your modifications to it as you wish.
  2. Once you have your image finished, select all and save that selection to an alpha channel. (It will be used later)
  3. Set the background color to one which is not in the image so it can be easily selected and then add a border to the image. (Image|Add Border)
  4. Load your alpha channel selection then from the Selections menu choose Invert, and flood fill with the color you want.
  5. Apply the cutout effect to the left and top edge using black as the fill color on a new layer above. This will allow you more control over the opacity.
  6. Now apply the Drop Shadow to the right bottom edge also on a new layer, with very little blur and horz/vert set to 1 or 2.
  7. Flatten all the layers and repeat steps 2 thru 7 for each section of frame moving out.
