THE CHROME EFFECT
A new special-effects function in Paint Shop Pro 6 is Chrome Flood Fill. To obtain the best results when applying this function, you should use a contoured image. Adding the Chrome effect to text does nothing but turn it gray. If you want a real Chrome effect, first add dimension to the text by using the Inner Bevel function.
To begin, add a new layer to your image by clicking on the New Layer icon in the Layer Palette. To add text to your image, click on the Text tool (the "A" icon) in the Tool Palette. In the Text dialog box, type in your text, choose a wider font and any color you want, and then click OK. Now click on the Image menu and choose Effects, Inner Bevel. Play with the Bevel settings until you get a three-dimensional look, then click OK. Click on the Image menu and choose Effects, Chrome. Finally, set the Flaws to 3 and the Brightness to 100%.
