Exporting Bryce Meshes for Use in Other 3D Programs
I thought that you couldn't export a mesh from Bryce in any other format than .opb, and what good does that do because only Bryce can use it? Well it turns out you can export a mesh that you create in Bryce in .obj, .rds, .lws, .wrl, .id4, or dxf format! This is not on the Quick Reference Card, and of course it isn't in the manual. MetaCreations must have a strange philosophy about other competitive mesh formats!

The exact text I received in an E-Mail newsletter is as follows:
How to export a Bryce mesh in other 3d formats

Yes! Bryce4 can export a .opb object! I find this tip alt.graphics.bryce, the author is 'calyxa' (calyxa@saturn.idiom.com):
To export a mesh, open the mesh editing dialog (Edit Object - the one with the 'smooth' and 'unsmooth' icons on it) and type a control-D.
Bryce 4 can export meshes in:
AutoCAD DXF Files (*.dxf)
Infini-D Files (*.id4)
LightWave Files (*.lws)
Ray Dream Files (*.rds)
VRML 1.0 (*.wrl)
Wavefront OBJ Files (*.obj)
Notice: If you could not edit your grouped object you could not export it.
I have also noticed that you could import objects of different formats (.dxf, *.obj...), group them in Bryce and export them as a single mesh file.
I have seen calyxa's name in one of the Bryce newsgroups before (she's viewed as quite an expert) and her site is at:  http://www.chucko.com/calyxa/ From there you can go to her gallery or tutorials, although this tip isn't mentioned on the site.
